With snowflakes coming down and a foot of snow and ice on the swimming pool cover, it is extremely difficult to think about opening the 2010 Wellness Farm Swimming Pool season!! But given this is the full moon and last day of the month and people have been asking …. here we go … venturing into the 13th year of operation.

First, we would like to thank you for having the confidence in us to provide a safe, friendly, attractive setting for your family’s water-based enjoyment. We have been blessed with wonderful families who respect one another and make our responsibilities and efforts in coordination and pool management pleasurable. We also have been blessed with wonderful lifeguards who not only gently enforce safety rules and work hard to keep the pool clean but also genuinely enjoy the pool families. Not every working couple has it so good in their back door business.

Current members have the opportunity to renew memberships first. After April 15th we will open up pool membership to families on the waiting list. Once we reach our maximum, membership will be closed for 2010, even if previous members "forget" to renew. During your second year of membership you may sponsor one other family, if we have room. Prices will remain the same. No changes will be made to membership pricing for 2010. In addition, we will not close for a week for a family vacation during the 2010 pool season. Our pool calendar and hours of operation are subject to lifeguard availability both at the beginning and end of the pool season. Snow make-up days have thrown school schedules topsy-turvy. Believe it or not, we have lifeguards in four different school districts!

Swim Lessons are scheduled for July 13-16 and July 27-30, 2010. Email Bev: bebanne@zoominternet.net (new email) to reserve a space.

We are planning to continue offering free water aerobic classes for full-time pool members. We look forward to seeing you again this summer, celebrating life together and sharing The Wellness Farm Pool facilities with you.

P.S. Both hives of honey bees died – all of a sudden – last fall. New honey bees, if available this year, will be placed at a distant area from the swimming pool. This year the area around the pool will have limited clover grass. We hope that will discourage the bees from visiting the grass inside the pool area.
